Banana Custard
Ripe banana blended into smooth vanilla custard and sieved until there is nothing left to chew. Three ingredients and no cooking.

3 · Liquidised
Pours smoothly like a thick drinkable soup. No lumps, no bits, and no chewing at all. Can be taken from a cup or spoon, and should not hold its shape on the plate.
Suitable for anyone who finds food hard to chew or swallow. Graded IDDSI Level 3 (Liquidised) — smooth & drinkable — the texture standard used in dysphagia care and soft diets.

Important Guidance
- The photograph shows the dessert finished with banana slices and chocolate shavings. Neither belongs at Level 3, where nothing should need chewing. What is graded here is the blended custard on its own.
- Banana is stringy, and blending alone does not always deal with it. Step 3 is what makes this Level 3 rather than nearly Level 3, so sieve it even when the mixture looks smooth.
- Prepared custard varies a lot between brands. Level 3 should still pour off a spoon, so check yours and loosen it with a little milk if it sits up in a mound.
- It firms up in the fridge. If it is being chilled, re-check the consistency once it is cold rather than while it is still warm.
Nutrition Facts
Estimated from the listed ingredients across 2 servings, using a standard ready-made vanilla custard. The source document supplied no nutrition, so this is an estimate rather than a lab-tested label.
Dietary Notes
Contains dairy and egg, depending on the custard used. Check the custard for gluten if that matters; many ready-made ones are thickened with wheat starch.
