Ingredients

1 tbsp Smooth tomato purée 15 mL

Tomato seeds and skin are the whole reason step 3 says strain. They survive blending, they are small enough to miss, and they are exactly what Level 3 is meant to exclude.
The basil and cream swirl in the photograph are styling. Herbs are not appropriate at Level 3; a swirl of cream stirred through is fine.
Thickener is a last resort, not an ingredient. Blend and strain first, then add it only if the soup still runs thinner than the level that has been prescribed, following the product’s own directions.
Tinned tomato soup is usually high in sodium even in the low-sodium versions. Taste before adding any salt of your own.
